Dudish Family Vacation

Each summer we (Dudish Clan) all go on vacation together. It's a tradition and we totally LOVE it. We use to go to Hilton Head every summer but we now have an opportunity to go to Orange Beach (next to Gulf Shores). I think it is some of the prettiest sand. It is very white and thick. This year we wanted to spend most of our time and the pool or the beach which I think we accomplished. Kylin is a beach and water baby. We did a lot of fun things like watch the Blue Angels Fly and visit the train museum. This year we also went to a Fun Park. It was such a perfect place for our kiddos because there were several rides that were made just for their size! I loved it and I think everyone else did too. Now the fun part...the pictures...there are quite a few!

First Two Teeth...

For the record books...Charlee has her two bottom teeth. We have thought for several months we would see teeth and they finally popped through at the beginning of vacation (post to come).

Charlee - 6 months

It is a little late but our sweet baby girl turned 6 months May 17th. She changes so much every day but what never changes is her easy going, sweet, cuddly personality. She is just all smiles. Obviously we have moments here and there since she is cutting teeth (just today had a flash back of when Kylin started teething). My girls just don't like pain.
Charlee Rose you are 6 months and so much fun. You have learned to do so much this month. You are now rolling over, sitting up on your own, and even stand holding on to something. You try your hardest to move when you are on your tummy. You occasionally get your belly and booty off the ground. Kylin was playing with the dollhouse the other day and you wanted to be a part so bad. You were reaching for the table it sits on. I thought it was just too cute so I stood you up and you held on just taking it all in. You started sleeping through the night but I am thinking you may have been growing but just recently you have been really restless at night (teeth-boo).
You weighed 18 lbs 10oz and were 26.5 inches tall at the doctors for your check-up. You did not like your shots at all. This was the first time you really got upset...you even were grumpy for the few days after too. You are in 6-9 or 6-12 clothes. Kylin was just a tad bit bigger than you at this age. You seem to be taller to me but not sure why.
You have had a few first this month too. You went swimming for the first time. You were not too sure about the first dip. The pool was actually a little cold but we have been several times since then and you now love it. On memorial day you even start splashing and kicking without crying when your face got wet. Maybe you will be a water baby like your sister.
When I go get you in the morning you are always looking for your daddy and your sister. When you see them you get so excited! You immediately want to start talking to Kylin. You also started saying ma-ma and dada sounds. You even say something that sounds like yaya. It is really sweet to hear your voice and watch you try to say things. It is crazy you are 6 months.
You have eaten puffs, ritz cracker, biscuit (very small amount) and have loved them all. You eat three meals a day and really love your food. You still nurse 4 times a day. Sometimes you skip one of those. We love you to pieces doodlebug! Your smile is contagious...

What's been going on in May...

Our sweet girls just adore each other. I love it. We have let Kylin and Charlee take a few baths together recently and Charlee just loves the company. Kylin has been so great about sharing with her. She gets a big smile on her face when she sees Charlee holding one of her things. She also loves when Charlee holds her hand...grabs her hand. I know the day may come that this all changes but right now I just love watching them together!
We had a great Mother's Day and got to celebrate all the wonderful mom's in our life. We also dedicated Charlee at Graystone on Mother's Day. We were able to dedicate Kylin on Mother's Day after she was born too. We spent time with my mom for lunch and then went and spent time with Justin's mom that evening. Justin was so sweet and celebrated me on the Monday after. He wanted to have full day to do stuff.
Kylin had her last few days of preschool...her first year completed. She just absolutely loved it. I am not sure she gets that it is over but she might...She really has grown up so much this year and really learned some independence! People that take care of my girls mean the world to me. I wanted to make sure Kylin's teachers knew that so I gave them a little gift each day in May until the end. I forgot to take pictures of a few. They were not big gifts but stuff that I knew they liked. At the beginning of the year I sent in a "Get to Know You" sheet and they both filled it out so I had some ideas. I found other ideas off of Pinterest. I stole the M&M/giftcard/poem idea from my friend, Megan, but I think she nabbed it from Pinterest as well. It was a great first school experience for us and we look forward to next year!
We've been playing outside a lot more. We LOVE sand so we are spending time in our backyard. Charlee is usually in her exersaucer (sp?) or swing. Kylin has a great imagination. If you look closely she is making a "pattern" with toilet paper. Not sure what kind of pattern but that's what she says and I believe her! We gone on a few golf cart rides at Dzia Dzia's house and played with our cousins. I am sure we will be doing lots of that this summer.
I have to say one of the greatest things to watch is Kylin swimming. She loves the pool. She would stay in there forever. We have gone a few times to a great friend of ours pool but we also have the "end of season steal" pool from Target. It is a princess pool which Kylin loves. Kylin has worn a puddle jumper for the past two years (highly recommend for anyone learning how to swim). She has done great with it but just recently began to swim. She really is getting the concept so we moved on to arm floats. We will stick with those for this summer until she really gets "swimming". We love us some Clark's so as usual it was a blast!
These are a few more shots Justin took of the girls at the pool. I just loved them so I had to share. Coming soon- "Charlee - 6 months".

Turning 30

Some how I forgot to blog about my birthday. It was the big 30. It was back in March and it was just about perfect. My husband out did himself as always and did something special just about every day for the whole week. My sweet d-group (4 girls I have shared the good, the bad, and the sometimes ugly with) did a dinner for me and it was just perfect. My friend Jennifer baked me some wonderfully delicious cookies and I may or may not have eaten them all in that same day. Self-control is definitely a goal for the next year ;-) They were simple but delicious! We had two separate dinner celebrations with my family and one with Justin's parents. Simple was what I had told Justin I wanted. I love simple. Too much "stuff" just takes away from the simple. 30 is just a number so I wasn't really that traumatized or anything. I actually have LOVED it! Every year I realize more and more what's important. The simple things. I have a husband who gives me time every morning just for me. I am usually walking. It's simple nothing fancy but it helps my day and I know I need it. I have two girls who with just one simple smile can change my mood and brighten the room. When we get a few minutes where nothing is planned we love to have just a simple night at home. Dinner, TV, family time, etc...There is nothing better. I was driving home after walking the other day and things that God has done recently just kept popping in my head. There is nothing greater than meditating on that and spending time thanking Him. I think we get so worried sometimes trying to do any and everything everybody wants you to do that you are so busy...you don't even enjoy it or know why you had to do it. My life is pretty simply fantastic and I'm looking forward to the next 30 years (sorry if that country song pops in your head and the randomness of this post)! And because I have no pictures of me at the moment, I'd love to share these sweet smiles with you!
*sorry for the terrible quality *This blog post mainly for record purposes. There is a company that will put your blog into a book for you (not sure the company name yet). Excited to do this sometime soon since I am terrible at baby books and scrapbooking.

Kylin Turns 3 (Part 2)

I had seen on Pinterest the idea for a "Pajama and Pancakes" party. I started planning and thinking a few months out but Kylin was going back and forth with princess stuff. I decided to convince her to wait on the princess party til next year and go with the pajama party. We didn't do a very good job of getting pics of Kylin with her family and friends but we did get a few shots. It was a lot of fun. Everyone ate food, then played outside, and then we opened presents. It was great! The kiddos ate pancakes but the grown ups had pigs in a blanket from Donut King and breakfast burritos. I highly recommend this or you'll be spending a few hours on pancakes. The favors were pillows and cupcakes.
All the plates, napkins, straws, forks, etc...were from "Shop Sweet LuLu". I loved everything and it shipped very quickly.
Since we did not have "cake" we put candles and sprinkles on Kylin's pancakes.
We are missing a few pics of a few cousins and friends BUT if you looked through all those you probably are tired of pics at this point. I loved watching Kylin have fun. There is nothing more that she loves than a good party. If you know her at all she gets beyond excited. I don't necessarily think it is the cake or the presents but the people. She LOVES being with her family and friends. She just loves people (people she knows, that is);-) We loved celebrating every minute of your three years, Kylin! You are beyond a blessing! God is so good!
